How long has this Camp been held.?
2010 is the fourth year of the NBAC swim camp.

What is the capacity of the camp?
We have set a limit of 50 campers PER WEEK for 2010.

How much time will we have with Michael Phelps?
Michael will be available each week of the Camp.  We expect that he will join us for a pool session as well as a "meet and greet" autograph and picture time.  That's the plan for now, of course it is subject to change, but Michael will be a part of our camp each week.

What if something happens and I can not make the camp?
We will refund all but the $200.00 deposit which is non-refundable if we have received notice from you by May 15.  After May 15, 2010, no refunds will be given unless proof is given of a documented medical condition which precluded participation in the camp.

Does my child have to have competitive swimming experience?
We highly recommend that camp participants have competitive swimming experience.  This is a camp for competitive, year-round swimmers and should not be considered a "learn to swim" program for non competitive, non year round swimmers.

How do I register for the camp?
Online, log onto the NBAC website,  www.nbac.net and click on the Swim Camp advertisement. Once that brings up the camp page, click on APPLICATION, print it out and complete, mail with check or credit card information or fax with credit card information. Mail to NBAC Swim Camp, P.O. Box 20801, Baltimore, MD 21209, Fax to 410-433-0953. Registrations will NOT be accepted via email.

What if I am a returning camper from 2009?
All 2009 camp participants will be given a 15 day Priority window to register for 2010 from November 1-15.  Beginning Monday, November 16, 2010, the camp will fill on a first come, first served basis.

Who makes up the staff of the NBAC Swim Camp?
All of the coaches on NBAC's staff take part in the camp as well as swimmers from the senior levels of NBAC.  Additionally, experts on nutrition, injury prevention and management, dryland fitness, and past NBAC Olympians are scheduled to take part in the camp.

Where is the camp held?
The camp is held at the Meadowbrook Aquatic & Fitness Center in Baltimore.  For more information on the facilities, check www.mbrook.com  Overnight accommodations for the overnight camps are at the nearby Mount Washington Conference Center. www.mtwashconfctr.com

What time(s) does camp begin and end?

Camp begins Monday 11 AM with registration, a parents meeting and introduction of the staff for the swimmers.  After Monday, camp begins at 9:00 am. Each day, camp ends at 5:00 pm.  On Friday, camp will end at 3:00 pm.

What meals are covered?
All campers receive lunch every day, as well as snacks and sports beverages throughout the day.  Overnight campers additionally are fed breakfast and dinner.

Is this camp a "training" camp or a "teaching" camp?
There is training and teaching at the NBAC Swim Camp, the emphasis is on teaching about training.  There are at least two water sessions a day and dryland training as well, but our emphasis is on quality, not quantity.
