August 10, 2007 . Richard Hills Drops Nearly Two Seconds in 200m IM to Qualify for an Evening Swim on Final Day of Swimming The final three days of swimming at the Junior National Championships ended the team with 100% season best times. On Thursday, Sean Roddy and Erin O'Donnell swam lifetime best times in the 100m breast and 100m fly respectively in the morning. "Erin had a remarkable season" Coach Armstrong says. "She had three substantial time drop in the 100m butterfly. For her to qualify for the meet and then drop time at the meet is praiseworthy." On the final day of competition, Michael Thomas negative split his way through the Men's 1500m freestyle catching his neighboring swimmer who, with 500m to go, was over 5 seconds ahead. Thomas dropped 5.5 seconds off his previous best set only three weeks ago. Richard Hills highlighted the morning by dropping nearly two seconds from his lifetime best in the 200m IM qualifying him for the bonus final. All the Men's relays saw four athletes achieve quality swims that contributed to a strong team effort. Although the relays did not score highly, they exceeded everyone's expectations. August 7, 2007 . Drew Cosgarea and Sean Roddy End Season Ranked 2nd and 4th for their Age Group Day two in Indianapolis began with Laura Harris's in season best time in the 100m freestyle followed by a strong effort from both Richard Hills and Sean Roddy in the 200m breaststroke. Roddy earned an evening consol swim, where he placed 16th overall ranked 4th in the Nation for his age group. Drew Cosgarea swam his first Junior National event today, the 200m backstroke, with a best prelim swim time. His efforts from this season leave him ranking 2nd in his age group. The team returns to action tomorrow with two individual swims and the Men's 800m freestyle relay. August 6, 2007 Michael Thomas Leads NBAC into Junior Nationals. Monday, August 6th began the 3rd annual summer Junior Nationals--taking place in at the Indiana University pool on the IUPUI campus in Indianapolis, IN. Michael Thomas lead off the meet swimming the 800m free this evening with a strong best time performance. Thomas swam a controlled first half of his race just behind his competition. During the back half of his race, he ran them down and won a tight race between 5 fellow heat swimmers coming down the final stretch.
