Brennan Morris and Felicia Lee Qualify for USA National Team.

After three days of swimming in Indianapolis, NBAC's National Team has already experienced injuries, night swims, best times, new Olympic Trial cuts, world class swims, Japan team qualifications, and overall exciting and impressive races.

Prior to the first day of competition, Courtney Kalisz  fractured an elbow preventing her from swimming in the meet.  However, team mates recovered and remained focused for fast swimming.

On the first day of competition, both Kailey Morris and Felicia Lee made it back in the 200m fly for an evening swim.  Ian Rowe swam his 1500m free in finals to an 8th place finish, and Katie Hoff placed 2nd in the best race of the evening in the 800m free against Kate Ziegler.  Hoff's swim was only .47 behind Kiegler and was the 4th fastest American female 800m free ever.

During the second day of competition, Kailey Morris dropped over 5 seconds to qualify for the consolation finals in the Women's 400m IM where she finished 12th.  Felicia Lee qualified for an evening swim in the 200m back, and Katie hoff dropped over 3 seconds to win the event.  Austin Surhoff placed 22nd in the Men's 200m back dropping 1.8 seconds and earning his second Olympic Trail cut.

The swim of the evening was definitely Brennan Morris's 400m IM which not only placed him 7th, but also was the 3rd fastest time for a 16 year old ever in the event.  The impressive swim qualified him for the USA National team to compete at the Japan Open.

Tonight's swims continued at the same intensity of the previous ones with Felicia Lee also qualifying for the USA National team geared for the Japan Open in the 100m fly with a best time of 59.72.  Katie Hoff finished 2nd in the 400m free with a best time, again just behind Ziegler by .34 seconds.  Finally, Kailey Morris swam an Olympic Trial cut in her evening swim of the 400m freestyle.  More fast swims are anticipated for the resulting 2 days.
