Paul has been coaching
at North Baltimore since the spring of
2001. After assisting National Coach of the
Year Bob Bowman during the 2001-2002 season,
Paul was the lead coach at NBAC’s Harford
County site from the spring of 2002 through
the summer of 2004. During the fall of 2004
Paul started his current position in
Baltimore as NBAC’s Senior Elite Coach.
Since 2002 Paul has
helped eight different North Baltimore
athletes achieve over 60 #1 National Age
Group rankings. Four of Paul’s NBAC
athletes (Katie Hoff, Courtney Kalisz,
Felicia Lee, and Liz Pelton) and five relay
teams -- have set 47 National Age Group
records.
During the 2007 year,
six of North Baltimore’s Elite swimmers
competed internationally for Team USA.
Racing at the World Championships, the World
University Games, the Pan American Games,
and the Japan Open, NBAC athletes won 5 Gold
and 2 Silver Medals -- including World
Record swims by Katie Hoff in the Long
Course 400 IM and the 800 Free Relay.
In 2007 Paul was
selected as the Head Women’s Coach for the
USA Pan American Games Team, held in Rio de
Janeiro. Paul has also served as an
assistant coach for Team USA’s World
Championship Team (2005), Pan Pacific Team
(2006), and Japan Grand Prix Team (2007).
