THANK YOU!

Once again, we’ve had another successful meet.  Swim meets don’t just happen - they take a lot of effort and planning.  Special thanks to our meet directors, Donna Friedrich and Susan Pallace, for all their behind the scenes work.

The coaches, swimmers, and volunteer coordinators at all our NBAC sites wish to express sincere appreciation to all the NBAC volunteers who helped to make the NBAC Invitational Long Course Championship at Meadowbrook this past weekend such a resounding success.  It couldn’t have happened without your help!

We also wish to express our gratitude to the volunteers from outside the club who helped with officiating.

THANKS AGAIN FOR AN OUTSTANDING JOB!

MD Swimming State Champs
March 17-20

Congratulations to Katie Hoff and Courtney Kalisz who both broke National Age Group records at the Maryland State Champs this weekend. Katie took the 15-16 100 Fly NAG record with a 52.61, breaking Natalie Coughlin's 1998 time of 52.91. Courtney broke the 13-14 200 Back NAG record with a time of 1:56.87. The old record was held by Teresa Crippen form PA who broke it one week earlier (1:56.89)

NBAC LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE MINI MEET

The NBAC Mini Meet will be held at UMBC on Saturday, April 9, 2005 and Sunday, April 10, 2005. We need all NBAC families to sign up to work during the weekend of the meet. If everyone does their share, we can all enjoy the weekend and the accomplishments of each of our young swimmers. This meet is usually a lot of fun for everyone.

Since we have several different practice sites and we know not all parents get inside the sites on a regular basis, we are going to try something different for this meet. The worker assignment sheet can be found on the here. Take a look at it and then send an email to John Cadigan at jac@mbrook.com with the following information: your name and what session(s)/position you would like to work. If you would like to work but have no access to email or a computer, just give one of the site coordinators a call and let them know what you would like to do. The assignment sheet will remain posted until a couple of days before the meet so you can see where we need help the most.

We know that, as always, we can count on your support. Remember, you are volunteering your time in support of your child’s sport, and swim meets can’t happen without your assistance. Remember also that this meet is a revenue producer for the club and helps keep our budget balanced and our dues in check. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Your Volunteer Coordinators

NBAC Wins Eastern Classic
Jan 14-16
Results | Eastern Classic Info

12 kids from the Harford County site traveled to Atlanta to compete in the Eastern Classic Meet against some of the best teams from across the country.  Although the weekend started out with a long delay on the runway at BWI, the meet was still a success (NBAC won by over 700 points!) and the kids proved their toughness by racing even when they didn’t feel great.  We had 7 swimmers score points including Derrick Casados who scored 3 points early in the meet even though he was so sick he was unable to swim on Sunday!  Some other notable performances:

Caitlin Carter - 2nd place 200 free, 500 free
Katie Gallagher - 2nd place 100 back
Chase Kalisz - 1st place 50 & 100 fly, 50 & 100 breast, 50 & 100 back, 100 & 200 IM, 100 free, 2nd place 500 free
Frankie Roman - 3rd place 200 & 500 free, 200 fly
