November 04 Swimmer of the Month: Madison Brown
"Not again" she thought when she heard that her cousin had been moved to the next group while she was to stay in her group. This was the second time in her life that Madison Brown had watched her cousin get moved up before her. She had had enough. She had finally found a goal! Madison wanted to move up to AGP I and she wanted to get more BB's and maybe even her first A time. She decided to come to more practices and make the best of her time while she was there. She started to lead the lane, fous on drills and work hard at things even when she didn't like them (kicking!). And lo and behold, before we all knew it...Madison was improving at a rate she had never known before. Her coach gave her the opportunity to try the AGP I practices and Madison didn't miss a beat. She came in and continued to thrive...all of the sudden, sets of 100's, 200's and even 300's were FUN! "WOW!" she thought, "Working hard in practice really DOES payoff!" Now, instead of la-dee-da-ing her way through practice, Madison takes the opportunity to work on her strokes and pay attention to her times...and she is having a blast as she sees herself getting faster! Keep up the good work madison...you are the Swimmer of the Month!

October 04 Swimmer of the Month: Sean Dunnigan
Sean Dunnigan knows that the first step to achieving your goals is believing that you can. Although Sean has always worked hard at practice, it hasn't just been Sean's attitude about his swimming that has changed. Instead of focusing on all the reasons why he wouldn't/shouldn't be able to do something, Sean now approaches both practices and meets with a, "I can do this, I will do this!" attitude and the result has been terriffic! At the CUBU dual meet , Sean dropped over 14 seconds in his 400 IM to qualify for the MD Swimming Championships - his first cut since he turned 13! A few minutes later, Sean got up and raced well in the 200 Fly and then came back a few minutes later to drop another second off his 200 Breast time - an event he just dropped more than 5 seconds in two weeks before! But Sean didn't take a mental of physical break after the meets...two days after the dual meet, Sean did 15x50's of backstroke (SCM), faster than his best converted time including 2x50 that were faster than his SCY time. Congratulations Sean...you are the Swimmer of the Month!

September 04 Swimmer of the Month: Jakie Le
You may not notice our September Swimmer of the Month at first glance. She is not the biggest member of the Blue Group or the fastest or the loudest. But keep watching and you will not be able to miss Jackie Le. She's the one who comes to every practice with a huge smile on her face and starts her dryland before you can even say "Hello." In the water, Jackie always knows what the directions are and she works hard to swim each drill correctly and she loves to swim fast! The kids in her group know that they can count on her to know "which one they are on" and which drill they are supposed to do but watch out...if the kids ahead of her aren't focused on the task at hand, Jackie ha no problem "running them over!" Jackie doesn't let little problems set her off track. When the Blue Group was doing a set with fins, Jackie didn't let the fact that she didn't have hr fins yet slow her down. Instead, she decided to kick extra hard without them and by the end of the set, she was near the front of her line...ahead of those with fins! When she's not at practice, you can probably find Jackie working hard somewhere else...she's a talented musician and writer as well! Keep up the god work Jackie!
