Tom is entering his 8th year as NBAC's Head Age Group Coach. In that time, Tom's swimmers have achieved over 130 Top-16 Rankings. Nine of Tom's swimmers have set 24 Maryland State Records and 41 Team Records. He has had 19 Individual MD LSC Champions in 83 different events, as well as 6 Eastern Zone Champions in 27 events. 72 of Tom's swimmers have qualified for the Maryland Zone Team over the last 6 years.

Tom has coached six swimmers to Top 3 National Age Group Rankings, including a #1 ranking. Tom has also coached swimmers to National Age Group Relay Records and three #1 Top-16 Rankings. Seven of Tom's swimmers appear on the USA Swimming Top 100 All-Time Times list.

Prior to coaching at NBAC Tom was the Head Coach of the Severna Park Stingrays. At Severna Park Tom's swimmers broke over 125 team records in two short course seasons. Tom was also the Head Coach of the Waugh Chapel Swim Club from 1999-2003.
