Paul has been coaching at North Baltimore since the spring of 2001. After assisting National Coach of the Year
Bob Bowman during the 2001-2002 season, Paul was the lead coach at NBAC's Harford County site from the
spring of 2002 through the summer of 2004. During the fall of 2004 Paul started his current position in
Baltimore as NBAC's Senior Elite Coach. Paul's NBAC swimmers have represented the United States in international competition each year between 2004-2008, winning medals at the Olympic Games, the World Championships, the Pan-Pacific Championships, the Pan Am Games, and the World University Games. During the 2007-2008 season Paul was Katie Hoff's coach when she set 11 American Records in 9 different events -- including a Long Course World Record in the 400 IM. Since 2002, Paul's NBAC swimmers have set over 70 National Age Group Records in 12 of the 14 competitive events. Eight of Paul's NBAC swimmers have achieved over 70 #1 National Age Group Rankings. Paul has represented the United States as an Assistant World Championship Team Coach (2005), an Assistant Pan Pacific Championships Coach (2006), the Head Women's Pan Am Games Coach (2007), and most recently as an Assistant Coach on the Women's Staff of the 2008 Olympic Team. In 2007 Paul was named the United States Olympic Committee's Developmental Coach of the Year for Olympic Sports. |
