Our goal is 100% participation from all families. So far, we have over $8,000 pledged and $4,500 collected. Last year’s total was over $11,000.  We still have to hear from 50+ families. McDonogh rolls to IAAM championship
Eagles sweep all 11 events, set seven meet records; NDP's 9-year reign ends
Team members and coaches watch the final individual race of the day.

A year after staking its claim to a share of the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland swimming championship, McDonogh left no doubt as to which team was the best yesterday at UMBC's Retriever Activities Center.

The Eagles swept all 11 events and set seven meet records in claiming their first outright title in the program's history. They also denied Notre Dame Prep at least a piece of the championship for the first time in 10 years.

The Eagles finished with 465.5 points, comfortably outdistancing the Blazers, who came in second with 386. McDonogh's trio of junior Claire Hutchinson and sophomores Anne-Marie Botek and Kelly Peloquin combined for six individual victories, and each was a part of two of the Eagles' three winning relay teams.

Swimming: Michael Phelps and a wave of other elite athletes benefit from the hard work that has built the North Baltimore Aquatic Club
For most of its existence, the North Baltimore Aquatic Club was associated with female swimmers driven to Olympic gold by a taskmaster coach.

The NBAC's deepest roots, however, involve boys, one who nearly drowned in the stream that bisects Baltimore and another playing alongside it at Meadowbrook, one of the city's favorite summer haunts.
